Call for abstracts
*** Submission deadline is now Tuesday, February 6!***
We invite you to submit abstracts for PsychoShorts 2024. This year’s conference will be held bi-modally (excluding the poster session) on Friday, March 1.
This year, we will be hosting a panel on the importance of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in psycholinguistics research. We are honoured to have Prof. Gigi Luk deliver a keynote lecture entitled “Achieving Equity and Justice in Research for Linguistically Diverse Populations”.
This talk will be followed by a panel themed "Going beyond good intentions: making EDI considerations concrete". It will consist of 4-5 invitees, researchers and university / agency advisors, placing EDI at the heart of their activities. Our goal is to hold an open discussion between panelists and conference attendees about how EDI issues can be actively integrated in research endeavours.
The conference will also include talks, a poster session, and a keynote lecture by PhD candidate Leah Gosselin. Please note that talks may be presented in person or virtually, but that posters will only be presented in person. Abstracts in all areas of psycholinguistics will be considered. This includes (but is not limited to) sentence processing; L1/L2 acquisition, processing, perception, and production; neurolinguistics; clinical linguistics.
Anonymized abstracts (max. 400 words) should be sent by email in .pdf format to [email protected]. Please indicate author names and affiliations in the body of the email and specify whether you would like your submission to be considered for a) a poster presentation or b) a poster or talk. If you wish to be considered for a talk, please indicate whether you'd present in person or virtually.
**Abstract submission has been extended to Tuesday, February 6.**
Abstracts may be submitted in English or in French. Researchers are encouraged to present works in progress and project proposals. Submissions by students are particularly welcome. Notification of acceptance will be disseminated by Feb. 10, 2023. The full programme will follow shortly thereafter.
